About Us

This blog is part of a larger advocacy effort by the Save Prentice Coalition. The members of the Coalition include: the Chicago Field Office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Landmarks Illinois, Preservation Chicago, docomomo_midwest, and AIA Chicago. This group of preservation and modernism advocacy organizations works together to promote the preservation and reuse of Bertrand Goldberg’s groundbreaking 1975 Prentice Women’s Hospital.

The Chicago Modern blog provides a platform for information about Prentice and the on-going efforts to save it, while also distributing information to the public about other examples of Chicago’s Modern architectural heritage. If you know of  a Modern building, site, landscape or architect that you think should be presented in this blog, please send us your suggestions in the comment box below.
